VW Expansion Tanks
I was going to ask what the best cleaning method of the several suggested may be.
But, for those needing tanks, brand spanking new from Eurocarparts, £7.40 inc vat and free delivery. Also has a low level switch built in.
Hardly worth the effort of getting to the scrappy and then having the hassles of cleaning the thing.
Cheers,
Nev.

Go on Eurocarparts site, look for the expansion tank for a '92 Golf, 1.6l.
There's a pic on the site. Mounts, two bolts, are horizontal, at the half way join on the tank.
Cheers,
Nev.

There are a million different variants so you can almost choose exactly where you want the feed out and the bleed out to point too!
I rang gsf headquarters (number from an ebay auction) then the bloke talked me through them all and included the correct cap to suit for under £15
delivered, so yeah, totally not worth going scrappying, especially as you can choose the fitment!
All mounting points are the same for the round bottles IIRC, 2 holes on the top and a tounge at the bottom to locate it.
