how to prime an oil pump??

As above, I've fitted an evo oil pump to my m3 engine..... how do I best prime the pump? Just turn it over with the plugs out and no fuel connected for 3 or 4 10 second bursts?

Tubing attached to a syringe ?

The GC article relates to a Fiat , but could be applied/modified to other engines.

I'll have a look at taking the lid off the filter housing and then the filter out... seems that there's a feed to the oil pump there

probably too late now but use vaseline when you assemble the pump prior to fitting and it will prime itself in no time
turn over with plugs out till you get pressure
vaseline will dissolve into the oil once running

What I normally do is first fill the filter, then remove the pump (if its easy to do so) and squirt as much oil down into the pump as possible. Turn it over with the plugs out until the oil light goes off.
