Vauxhall red top fuelling and ignition
Hi folks,
Just bought and collected a part built rolling chassis with a Vauxhall red top mated to a Manta (I believe) box.
What are my options for getting the engine up and runnning in terms of fuel and ignition (ECU included)?
I haven't quite got my head round what's on the engine at the mo.
Cheers!

In its standard form, there were two different ignition types put onto the redtop engines. One was dizzy, the other electric ignition. As Scootz
says, put soe pics up and we can take a look!

I'm running a c20xe in my Manta atm, mated to the 5 speed box.
Mine is a dizzy engine with standard ecu and throttle body, i'm going down the bike carb route soon which will do away with the ecu, so should
be a piece of wee to get running
Breathing is where you free up the ponys on these engines.
You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one
portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.

Well from what I can tell from them pics. You have electronic ignition (DIS) and standard throttle body.
Bin the standard inlet and fit carbs or tbs

Thanks for the inputs, guys! Am I right in saying that my shopping list would be -
R1 carbs, fuel pump from an R1, suitable manifold, choke and throttle cables?
Beyond that, I would be looking at an ECU remap and getting the carbs balanced?
Any idea of cost? I've sure I've heard of people adapting the existing inlet manifold with hose?
Cheers as ever!

Throw away the ecu and get an ignition only ecu if your going carbs. Or a fully mappable ecu if going throttle bodies.
You cut the original manifold tho not ideal and respace the carbs.
