black-top big end bearing

Hi guys am just about to change the con-rod bolts on the zetec. I had a look at the big-end bearing and there are slight wear lines nothing drastic. If i change erm now. do I have to change the main bearings as well. Also where can I source erm from.

cheers

No reason why you have to change the mains at the same time but if the big ends are worn it might make sense.

If the bottom end is badly worn on a Zetec I'd be tempted to bin it and buy another - the bottom ends tend to be quite strong so if worn the rest is likely to be worn as well.

Burtons will supply all the bits for a rebuild if that's what you wanted to do though.
