Lobro Angles
Hi All
I'm looking at fabricating a set of shafts for my Elan 26R to replace the original doughnuts etc.
I've looked at these but that's £900 for the set and I'm sure it can be done
cheaper and just as well and once we've made one set then there's a chance to sell a few more.
Can anybody tell me where I can find the maximum angles that Lobros can work at?
DRD do a lightened Lobro (
here) which I think is standard Ford - easy to get the shafts made with these! I've
just realised they're exchange though.
Regards
Wyn

Hi Matt
TT's are, I think, £475 plus the dreaded VAT.

Buy the posh ones Wyn. Anyone who manages to incorporate the phrase,
"How’s Yer Donuts?" on their website deserves your cash!

reet............
as somebody that's mused over driveshafts for far too long............
take a look on here and the rest of the dans performance parts site before
you buy in the UK.
next....Geoff Berrisford
here is a very handy chap,
who makes the shafts that DRD sell.

And in answer to your actual question............
with std sierra parts, you can get 17 degrees of "unbound" articulation.
With "high angle" parts (Dans performance, Berrisford or DRD) you can get 27 degrees
its all shown and drawn very nicely here

Slight correction: DRD don't actually get their shafts from GB.

I don't know to be honest. I know that they have definitely moved up a gear now and are getting a lot of their bits done directly by
manufacturers and machine shops but I don't know the actual suppliers.

Yea, certainly moved up a gear. I spoke to them this morning about some trailing arms for a project we're working on and they can do them
cheaper than I can!!
Will certainly be ordering some!

Thanks guys - I'll pop over to Bar Props (who really know their stuff) and give them some
measurements and droop angles (no puns please!).
Hopefully we can come up with a setup that will work and won't require bits of string to stop full droop like some of the expensive setups that
are available!
Ns Dev - it's the mad Volvo man behind this idea btw :-)
