After info on zetec engine ECU's

I have seen in the past on here a post that seemed to list the various Zetec ECU's and I can remember them having names.
I did a search last night and did not find what I was after. Is there a list of the types of ECU's to be found either 1.8 or 2.0 litre, PATS or None pats.

Lastly I have what is called an EEC IV from a 1.8 CFI Sierra CVH engine, I assume this will be no good to use on the Zetec (Single point injection rather then 4 injectors sequential etc.)

I believe some need external EDis some don't?

Anyway if anyone can point me to a web based list it would be great.

Cheers

Adrian

Thats only part of the list and it's not complete.

External edis on a zetec is only for automatics.

The zetec has been run on all sorts inclueding a single Dgv weber but the cvh injection would be very much a downgrade.....

From memory didnt the cvh still use a dizy cap on the front of the cam ? Carb version did aswell as an ecu. So wont drive a zetec.

Hello big_wasa, sorry not remebering name.

The carb version was an ESC-Hybrid and a dizy, so yes you are very much correct, that would not run a Zetec but the CFI version I have came with all the loom and ECU, I think it is not a possible unit to use as it only had one injector. Unless that was a 2 Ohm one and the normal ones are typically 12 Ohms then it would never be able to drive 4 individual injectors. The manual still suggests it self learns?

Sorry thats a bit long.

Do you possibly have the complete list or have a pointer to where i could find it, long term project.

Just which ones to look out for, what age and markings that would be pre pats if possible.

I have a 1.8 Zetec Silvertop from an escort 115 ps version I believe. Came without any ancillaries or even flywheel, just the basic engine. I am planning to add, 1.8 CVH flywheel and crank pulley as I already have these lying around.

Already have edis and coil pack and Megajolt lying around, could go for different carbs. But thought to myself I would like to go injection. Thinking to use a Plenum chamber towards front of car.

I have a bit of a tendency to buy things I think are correct to only find I should have dug a bit more, such as the inlet manifold I bought off ebay was for 1.6 and not 1.8.

My reasoning for pre pats is the wiring I have in the car at present using a Premier loom is all in place so just looking to mod the engine section. Looking for the easiest CVH out and Zetec in I can find. Not looking for very large amounts of power i really doubt i could handle it in such a light car, to get around 140 for me would be the dog's.

I believe I know of someone that may (for a price) wire in Zetec ECU's and would certainly like to not spend several hundred pounds on rolling road set-ups.

Adrian

Also add money is getting short so getting parts over time helps.

Forgot to add have spare CVH starer motor, and spare CVH sump waiting to be chopped. spare pick up etc, basically any bits I need from two CVH engines to help.

Pre pats would be the "blob" ecu after 1994 they are pats so just look for an ecu that comes from a 1.8L manual zetec but make sure you get the keys or the rdif chip is whats needed from the key.

Ford changed the pin numbers and colours between models and even specs hence little info on the net. Diagrams are ecu specific to some extent.

No reason an eec-iv or eec_v wouldnt run from a trigger wheel but you wont be able to adjust the timing so you will need to get it bang on.

Easier to just use a zetec flywheel.

Found the list I can remember on another site DUH, http://www.ecutesting.com/ford_ecu_list.html

Found a better list
http://faq.ford77.ru/engine/jet/atp_electronic.htm#Ford%20Eng ine%20Management%20ECU

This gives year and engine cc, type!

Looking at the list I could be wrong in assuming the first two numbers of the part number are the year, for example BLOB is

93BB-12A650-BB / BLOB

Would I be correct in thinking that
Scrapped
Mondeo 93BB-12A650-BC / 7145618 / 5029657 / BLIP

Would also be without PATS as all are 93. Would give another option for ECU's to look out for?

Adrian

add a last list for tonight, this list says if PATS is enabled on the ECU

Looking for sites that now show wiring?
