Hubs

Anyone know what would be a good (cheap) source of 5x114.3 front hubs? Looking to fit some to a standard Ron Champion chassis - something light would be nice but doesn't need to be too small as I'm planning on fitting 15 inch wheels. Anything that could reuse the original wishbones would be nice too but I guess that'll be a bit of a longshot. I was thinking mx5 but only seem to be able to find four-stud. Any ideas?

Quite a few Hondas used 5x114.2 PCD e.g. UK Integra Type R and they used double wishbone front suspension on many of the older cars. However, the upper wishbone is very high on these, right up in the wing so probably not suitable without modification.

If you are desperate to have 5x114.3 (and I can't imagine why as wheel choice is more limited than the common 4 stud PCDs) then you could probably get the MX5 hubs redrilled.

There isn't much meat on Mx5 hubs, I think at 114.5 PCD you would be quite close to the edge of the hub.

Just worked it out.
Assuming you keep the 12mm studs, you would only be 4mm away from the od of the front hub, it being 124mm diameter

Ther is no way you could avoid the the other holes in the hub either you would have to fill them in and even then you'd be drilling holes partially in old filled in ones.

I can take some more measurements and pictures tonight if you need more info.

I believe Nissan skyline hubs have this pcd, 200sx's might also.

So it seems like there isn't a standard hub already commonly used on kits.

Thanks everyone, I'll have to keep my eyes open for something a little bit old and japanese then.

Liam, thanks for the offer but it sounds tricky already and I'm looking for the simplest option possible!

There are granada hubs at 5x112. They could be redrilled to 5x114.3 quite easily, are you can use misalignment 'wobble' nuts to fit 5x114.3 wheels.
