Sierra 3.14 Differential, Lobro outputs, where?
Does anyone know if the mythical beast exists anywhere? I'm looking for a Sierra 3.14 differential, with Quaife LSD, Lobro outputs, for
replacement of the unit in my Westfield....
Quaife don't seem too keen on helping on the phone, in fact deny stocking Sierra diffs of any flavour (yet they do list one with the usual
ratios). I my have found an unaware employee today possibly.
In an ideal world, which doesn't exist either of course, it would come fully rebuilt with a 'warranty' from a reputable transmission
specialist. I realise this isn't going to be 'locost', in this case it doesn't have to be. Please, if anyone can point me in
the right direction (or advise as to where I might find the components). Any commercail guys out there, please feel free to give me a U2U.
My Freeloader went freeloading, it just couldn't cope.

It realy is a case of hunting down any 3.14 diff and using the crown wheel and pinion then putting that with a quaife ATB in a standard Lobro casing.

The Quaife ATB part number for a 7" Sierra diff with push in shafts is QDF15Z
I thought they did a version that had the bolt on shafts (when I looked into a printed catalogue - I've probably recycled it by now) but looking
on their website I can only see this (listed as Escort Cossie rear - same as a 7" Sierra???)
http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdf15zfl
or this complete diff with flanges:
http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qaf15zqf
(not cheap!)
There is a pro-rebuilt 3.14 with a Quaife ATB already in it on pistonheads (link posted on here a few days ago) for about £800 or £900 - but its push
in shafts so you'd need new driveshafts (or to see if you can retrofit the bolt on shafts to an ATB that was originally for push in shafts?)
Hope this helps!

Thanks, yep, the sight of the unit in the Quaife catalogue is the reason I rang Quaife initially, and again today.
Either the customer service isn't as hot as it could be, or the guy 'who knows' isn't there this week, but it's not easy
to get a definitive answer.
I'll try next week, and then Westfield, who also list the unit (3.38).
If anyone can offer me a warrantied 3.14 unit, simply drop me a line.
I can but hope.

I think you'll struggle to find a warrantied 3.14 diff off the shelf.
Try Phil at Road and Race Transmissions - he's the guy who fitted the Quaife to my 3.38 - he can probably tell you what you need to know about
diffs. He may also have a 3.14, if he doesn't if you can find a 2nd hand unit he would rebuild it for you and probably give you a warranty on
it (assuming CWP are ok).
This was the one I was referring to on pistonheads (took me a while to find it again) but it sold unfortunately:

This is the first 3.14 I've seen come up rebuilt with a 3.14 but even then it's still push in shafts as that is very much the default
option.
Hope this helps.
