manual or automatic choke ?
Does a weber 32-DFM twin choke carb have a manual or automatic choke please ?I can t find this out anywhere and would like to know !

i ve looked at mine for ages and i have nt much idea whats what on a carb really . I ve looked in haynes escort and cortina books and it does nt seem
to tell you .But i ve got a cortina 1600E manual and i can t find any mention on there either until i found a little picture of the layout of the
switches on the dashboard and and there was one for the choke !!!so like you said it must be manual . Cheers Richard

there are two types of auto choke
One which is heated by the engine coolant and has 2 hose connections on a round chamber, the thing at the right of this picture-
the other has a round housing with a connector for a wire, it is heated by this till it switches off, the black housing in the bottom of this picture

If it has none of these then it is probably a manual choke carb and requires a cable to be connected to it and a handle on the dash, the cables can be
bought from Car builder solutions web site.

It is differant from both those two so it comfirms it as being a manual choke . Cheers Mr Whippy !

Hah! Chokes are for wimps 
A few prods on my 45's and away she goes... Okay you can't actually drive anywhere for a few minutes, but what the heck

my vw beetle based beach buggy has no chokes either on its twin carbs, just needs a few primes with the pedal and fires up very easily, not sure how
they get away with it as it runs just fine cold or hot
