radiator fan controller
I just wanted to know if this is true.
I presume a thermo switch as such http://www.tigerracing.com/catalogue/product_info.php?cPath=34&products_id=288
would switch the fan at a preset temperature.
The only advantage of the unit with the controller is that the user can dictate the temperature used?

It is true but depends on what the question is.
The radiator fan siwtch shown in the link to Tiger website is nothing special - just a 2 way switch with contacts that close at two different preset
temperatures.
Go on intermotor website and there you will find a pletora of these type of switches, both single and twin contact for different temperatures.
Not sure what you mean by controlller, there is no controller shown on the page you linked.
What exactly is your question?

Yes, you can get units with separate controller boxes which means that the switching point is adjustable. It's simplest to just use the type
shown- how often do you want to adjust the temperature your fan comes on at?

Question was, Is that the only difference between both type of thermo switches listed above and which one to use
