zetec + weber dcoe misfire
Hi All, hope you can help.
I have a 2lt zetec blacktop running on weber 45s and weber alpha ecu.
I parked up last week at lunchtime (all was fine) when I started up everything seemed OK until I tried to drive away, I now have a bad misfire over
2000rpm.
It seems fine (and pulls well) up to 2K
I've changed plugs, coil and leads, got good sparks across the board.
Checked the new plugs and it seems just No3 cylinder is the culprit (white plug)
Have checked main and pilot jets, all clear. Butterflies OK. no loose vacuum screws or anything. Pump jets are doing their thing.
There's quite a bit of popping on the overrun once warm too.
I'm hoping to get a compression tester tomorrow, any advice would be appreciated!
Ta

Check one of the choke securing grub screws hasn't gone awol.. allowing the choke to turn and cut off the fuel supply. I've seen it a
couple of times.

you, sir, are a genius!
That was it in a nutshell. Despite the fact that, in a moment of intense stupidity I saw the screw and tightened it up. Yes, well done me. Now I need
a new aux venturi.
However, after figuring out that I needed to line up the aux venturi before doing up the screw, everything is ok (despite the venturi having a
bit of a ding in the side now).
In fact, now that's done and the vacuum leaks are sorted it's running better than it has done for ages.
So, thank you very much - problem solved!
