Engine swap RS turbo to 1.3/1.4??

Unusual one this.
A good friend recently passed away. He owned a variety of cars, including a Quantum H4 (the fiesta based thingy) that he built about 10years or so ago. He used it for a couple of years, and replaced the tired engine with one from an RSturbo, that he never got to run.
Now this is the unusual bit. He has 3 sons, eldest 14 at the moment. He wanted them to have the car, so spoke to me before he died asking if I plus mates could stick a lower powered engine in the car, ideally a 1.3 or 1.4

How straightforward is that? I guess the best bet is to source a complete running engine/box complete, or even a whole car? Want is very simple, so more than happy with a carb.

Please, this is not about power, or making it difficult. Hoping it is the sort of job that can be done in a weekend with no "development" required.

Any pointers??

Ta
Clive

A Fiesta 1.25 would do it. Cheap tax and insurance. Buy s complete donor and should be a straight swap.

^^ even an old 1.3 from a mk1 KA should do it - they can't be worth more than £10 these days

To make it easy, you'd be far better off with the 1.4 from a Fiesta mk2 as it's a CVH, the same engine as the RS turbo. External dimensions are identical too, so it'll just be a straight swap.

The ignition is easy too - just a live and earth required. Everything else is built into the dizzy.

I know it's a pretty rubbish engine, but from an ease of swap point of view it's got to be favourite.

1.3 endura engine would be my choice. Carb and electronic ignition. Very very bassic engine. Easy to wire up and will take plenty of hammer.

Second ChrisW's 1.4CVH - it couldnt be any simpler than that. Doubt its any more flawed or less powerful than any of the other low capacity ford engines.
