Volvo t5, gearbox

Hi was wondering if anyone has done this conversion. Just wanting to know what gearbox to use or to use with? Engine mounts? Differential? Can you use the same ecu and wiring? Sorry all the questions but will be 1st project and would like to use this engine if possible

Volvo 960 gearbox, Getrag I think?
Also KL racing in Sweden sell all sorts of adapter bellhousing plates, I've not done this conversion so others will know better.
linky

I am doing a middy using a v70 donor and am planning to use an OMEX 710 ECU with the T5

Similar thread here: T5 RWD

The M90 will bolt straight on but it's short and fat, not long and thin, not such a problem if you're building your own chassis and can modify it to suit. It is a rare gearbox though

Thanks for such a quick reply, so just a modification on the chassis. What about loom ecu? Use from donor vehicle? Thanks

Dont write off the chassis mods without looking at Benzines pics. I looked at it and decided I couldnt get a decent pedal box in a book chassis using it.

Ive had the engine sat in the frame, its very tallso would require some of the higher bodywork available and the stock turbo location while acceptable would need a lot of heatshielding. Sump needs significant work as with most engines, but the filter housing and oil cooler takeoff comes from the sump..... A short renault filter fits.

You could use the original management, you can with any car. If you want to do this, aim at ME 4.3 from an 850, not the later ME7 which is coded into everything in the car (post facelift v and s 70.) The loom in the car is all in one, so hours of fun to be had separating the engine wiring and retaping.

Differential is the same decision as any other build, but sierra one should be fine.

The KL racing adaptors are ok, but you cant make a negative spacer and the BMW box is too long so you end up with a daft flywheel arrangement.
