What does the lambda plot look like?
Is it a problem at idle?

best bet is to buy a wide band sensor something like an innovate lc1 from diyautotune. stick that into your exhaust then at idle fiddle with fuel and
ignition until you get it somewhere around 14.7

Was it only the HC which was out?
What were CO and Lambda readings?

Whats the point will that be £148 down the drain I'm really sick the car at the moment I spent 6 months 18months ago getting the
injection graphted on and still the emissions are crap. Didn't MOT car in August last year so MOT was in the winter quarter, now i'm
back to MOT in MAY! GRRR.
Since day 1 this car has had shocking emmissions (same engine different fuel systems) very nearly thisnking of throwing in the towel or a
match!
Reallty starting to not give a monkey's about the car.
Was meant to be going to stoneleigh in it but it looks like this problem has put an end to that. Got an email from Wallace Performance Aberdeen (local
rolling road specallist , saying
"I'm afraid we don't deal with the mega squirt ecu.
Sorry."
And they call them selves experts in Tunning............ FINE if a had a F*****g Scooby!
Reluctant to buy a wide band sensor as it is £150 i feel that I will waste on this car when enthusiamium is rappidly disappearing. Would be better
spent on a good bottle of Whisky the way i feel.
I'm at the poitn I would happily take the car some where and say "MAKE it RUN" even though last night about replaceing the engine
and injection for stock something but then can't be bothered. And another 12 months off the road!
Shame it didn;t have a years MOT I would consider selling at this point!................................................................

I think megasquirt without wideband is not the best idea as unless you want to do the rolling road thing then I don't know how you could tune
it.
But if you don't want to get a wideband then, you need to find a local garage with appropriate gas testing capability who will let you adjust
the fueling. This is what I did for my SVA. I use them for my normal car and they were interested and helpful.
the graph below is the one you need
I'd invest in a wideband lambda (and did) you can get it tuned up really nicely with that, which I found very satisfying.
Matt
edited because I read the graph incorrectly. You are massively overfueling, unless the engine is miss-firing, in which case you may be
underfueling.

get it idling at about 900-1000rpm make sure the advance is around 10-12deg then all you have to do is reduce or increase the fueling until its
somewhere between 14-15 afr. with it like that it should easily pass emissions.

Do I set MSquirt up to "auto tune" or anything like that or just set the above params manually ? Guess the point is to get it through an
MOT

I'd personally tune it manually only at the low load cells (i.e. sat in teh drive revving it from idle to 3/4 redline), that should get it
through the MOT reasonably, then tune the rest of the table. Keep a backup of the original table. Dont forget to use megalogviewer to datalog normal
driving after the MOT and it'll bring your tune much closer to idea before you manually tune.
