Hayabusa Rattle

hi, i have just started my car up to give it one last check over as i have my IVA retest tomorrow and it seems to sound different, like it has a top end rattle?

Last time i drove it was saturday to take it to MK to get it set up for emissions, it is not running the power commander i have had the emissions mapped on its just running the bike ecu as i was told it was too lean to drive.

Anyone experienced anything similar or know what i could be?

Is It top end for sure, clutches rattle on some busa's at low revs, mine sounds like a bag off nails below 1300 rpm hence higher tick over.

I think so im not sure, but i have just checked over the oil dont know what made me do it, the previous owner said to me "dont worry about the oil ive changed it for you"... he had seriously over filled it

I've literally drained just over a litre of oil! The rattle seems to have gone away since doing so i just hope it hasnt caused any damage! Ive driven about 50 miles in it like this

Clutch rattle then, I guess, but difficult textually.

It's pretty safe overfilling the GSXR range with silly amounts of oil, essential if you're running a wet baffled/foamed/swung sump. A one litre overfill isn't excessive in some applications. Some have a return from the head back into the sump, not essential on the GSXR, the R1 is a different manner.

Anyway, don't worry.

Thats a load of my mind then so thanks for the reply! It is bang on the f mark now on the oil window! Is that right for a bec with a billet sump? I know that's obv where it should be on a bike

Some people say fill them same as a bike, some say fill them to top of sight glass. Personally i fill them to top of sight glass.

We maintain the oil level on our ZX12R at about three quarters full on the sight glass with the engine running. Obviously the level disappears above the sight glass with the engine switched off
