joining a throttle cable

can you join a throttle cable?

if so what the best way, its for my 71 vw camper i made the section from the linkage back but it comes in a 90 degrees at the front and is wearing the cable so would like to use the stock front section then join it to my rear section if that makes sense

thanks

I had a '73 Bay, I don't remember the cable going through 90 degrees? It comes through the fan housing in tube and straight on to the throttle linkage on the carb (or linkage in the case of twin carbs). Is it the section that connects to the throttle pedal where you're having the issue?
