T5 Gearbox question

I am thinking of upgrading my type 9 to a T5 cosworth box. Is this a straight swop or loads of work, I know the gearstick is different. All info welcome.

Finding a good T5 will take some doing!

They are expensive, even worn ones with notchy synchros.

Much better ratios than T9
Is a bigger box may need tunnel mods

One thing that is different is the location of the starter motor in the T5 bellhousing. The Cosworth uses a larger ring gear than the Zetec,Pinto,Crossflow etc., so with a T5 box fitted to one of these engines the starter won't mesh with the ring gear. You'll need to modify the bell housing to move the starter further in.
