T5 Gearbox question
I am thinking of upgrading my type 9 to a T5 cosworth box. Is this a straight swop or loads of work, I know the gearstick is different. All info
welcome.

Finding a good T5 will take some doing!
They are expensive, even worn ones with notchy synchros.

One thing that is different is the location of the starter motor in the T5 bellhousing. The Cosworth uses a larger ring gear than the
Zetec,Pinto,Crossflow etc., so with a T5 box fitted to one of these engines the starter won't mesh with the ring gear. You'll need to
modify the bell housing to move the starter further in.
