Sump and oil pick up 1300/1600 Xflow

I changed my 1300 xflow for a 1600 xflow but had to use the 1300 sump and oil pickup. Bolted everything together, started it up and there was a horrible noise. Out came the engine (fearing the worst) and from the marks on the sump and pick up pipe it seems the con rods had been fouling both. Can I assume that the 1300 sump and pick up are different to the 1600? If so, does anyone out there have a 1600 sump and pick up pipe for sale?

Your correct in thinking the 1300 and 1600 sumps are different , can't help with a sump I gave my last one away last year

1300 and 1600 have the same bore, but a different stroke (around 14 mm difference) That's why the crankshaft of the 1600 is hitting the 1300 sump.

Used a 1300 sump on a 1600 x-flow once. Had to treat it to some heat and hammer where the rod bolts were catching. Once done there were no issues.
