As I'm in the process of getting the parts together for exactly the same build, I think the 1st thing you have to do is decide what power you want and how much you want/ can afford to spend. Up to around 250 bhp things can be quite cheap, over this figure things tend to get a bit more expensive. There are hundreds of threads on various forums on this subject. For me the fact that I've got to use a type 9 gearbox restricts me to a certain power output. My build will be over the top for the power but the list is as follows
Std block
Std crank
Steel rods
Forged pistons
Std oil pump
Std head ( might just give it a clean up and new guides)
Uprated valve springs ( a must if you plan to use a bit of boost )
Arp studs top and bottom
Boost performance exhaust manifold
Jenvey throttle bodies with a nissan pulsar plenum modded to fit
Uprated alloy rad
Intercooler
Turbo ( still no sure on this one, I wanted to run a holset hx30 but can't find one, so either a garrett gt2560 for mega quick spool or a gt2860rs, not far behind but more top end)
H/d clutch
Spc semi helical type 9
