cam timing

kent fr32 in two litre pinto.if i time cam to inlet at 108 as book the valve opening and closingis not as spec.inlet 15 advanced exhaust 12 advanced.also if i check cylinders 2/3/4 openings/closing varies yet again. what to do?

When you timed it did you allow for the dwell of around 10 degrees ( you need the mid point of this). You also need the mid point of the dwell of the rocker finger as well. Other than that retime it again to be sure you've got it right.
Could be a dodgy cam i suppose or one thats been stamped wrong. It should be stamped on the rear face.

yes i did take both dwells into account.Its strange because on idle all cylinders are blue on the colour tune yet the plugs are black no.2 is wet with fuel and exhaust is popping and flames occasionally

What carb/carbs are you using ? could be down to air leak? incorrectly adjusted carb(s)?and or linkage?. Have found the Dave Walker book on engine management covers cam timing , ignition and weber/dellorto DCOE type carbs very well . Recommended read

weber dcoes 40,balanced,linkage ok as mentioned colour tune blue on all cylinders idling.
