Clutch problem solved (I hope)
You may remember I had problems with my clutch
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=32171
I was trying to solve it without taking the engine out but no joy... so:
Last weekend was spent disconnecting anything linking the engine and gearbox to the chassis - mounting bolts, drain coolant, disconnect cables,
clutch, throttle, etc.
On Monday I borrowed an engine hoist and got the engine out.
On Tuesday evening I split the engine, bellhousing and gearbox to take a look and it seems that the pivot point in the bellhousing was too far
forward. I emailed Mark Fisher (Fisher Sportscars, who sold me the kit for linking a Type 9 to a K-series) and it is definitely the right arm.
The solution was to grind down the post where the arm pivots and refitting the seat thingy.
Spent today getting the engine back in and connecting everything together again. Fingers crossed I turned the key and it more or less worked - a
couple of wires to connect properly, top up with coolant and a quick drive down the road and bingo... got my rebooked SVA on Tuesday.
