GSXR TB identification

Hi,

I've got a set of GSXR600-K1 throttle bodies but I'm not sure they are quite right. I thought the "K1" TBs didn't have the second set of butterflies as these ones do. Can any one confirm/deny this?

Are they still usable with the second set, or should I return them?

cheers

Matt,

As Liam said, simply remove the auxillary butterflies and the drive motor and they'll be fine. You'll need to fill the resultant holes in the bodies, I used one of the 'plastic metal' type preparations to do mine, epoxy resin would, I'm sure, do a similar job. Just try to make sure you leave it all nice and smooth on the internal surface.
You'll find a couple of pics in my archive if you want to take a look at mine.

Thanks chaps; glad to know they're not totally usless

Can anyone confirm if the K1's should or should not have these extra butterflies? Mainly because I bought them off eBay and want to know if I made the mistake of assuming they're not supposed to have them, or the seller mis-described them

cheers

I bought a set of GSXR600 K1 TBS off ebay and they also have the second set of butterflies.
This seem to be correct. I also have a PDF GSXR600K1/2 manual which does show these.
I block mine off with nylon shoulderd spacers,
although PTFE would have been better. My fear of using epoxy to fill them, is what happens if they come loose and get sucked in?

Thanks chaps I'll leave him some nice feedback. I've also go the rubber mounting thingies which look like they'll bolt straight to a DCOE manifold (although they could be a little too small)
