Bike carbs and pipes!
Hi, this is gonna sound like a really silly question but just got me bike carbs Suzuki ZXr carbs and I'm not sure what all the pipes are for.
There is one from the top that I believe slides the black gates up and down? Take it these attaches to the manifold I'm making. Then there is
what looks like the fuel line running along the bottom, but the pipe runs along to the end and then keeps going?? Is it supposed to go back to the
fuel tank? or swirl pot or something? Then there is another large-ish pipe than runs along the bottom a bit like the vaccum one on the top which
joins into a T-piece that doesn't appear to do anything!? Any help greatly appreciated! Oli.

think you need a manual
http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=41567
The bottom pipe is probably the petrol feed to the carbs. The big black one at the top is probably the balance pipe that keeps the top of the vacuum
chambers at equal pressure. The slides rise under presure from the inlet tract, the speed at which they rise is controlled by the strength of the
spring damping them and the air hole in the slide.
Don't worry it took me a while to work out how it all fitted together. Download a manual and all will become clear.
these are also good

good luck, it's worth it in the end (my blackbird carbs work a treat on my zetec).

Brilliant just what the doctor ordered.....on first inspection they seem remarkably simpe to look at compared with webbers but really clever
stuff......then you look closer and start getting confused! Cheers Oli.
