clutch help
driving about tonight my clutch decided to give up. the peddle felt spongy and was easy to press. I had a little look but it was dark, the cable had
gone really slack but hadn't snapped. I could feel the thrust Bering was still there.
anyone any ideas ? the box is a type9 / engine is XE

Could be a crack in the operating arm, so pushing the brake pedal is bending the arm more than operating the clutch.

Which clutch and thrust bearing have you used, were they a kit or various bits? The domed thrust bearing eats the raised diaphragm fingers and pulls
through it.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Most likely the fork has jumped out its pivot, or if you are using a pedal with ratchet adjuster the ractchet has stripped.

had a look tonight and it looks like a chunk of the clutch plate has come off and jammed between the plate and the flywheel. so its engine out and
replace the clutch plate (its to cold for working on cars burrrr)
is this a common problem ? should I buy a stronger plate ? where can I buy a stronger plate ?
I was thinking maybe a stone had got in and broke the plate as the clutch and flywheel is exposed at the bottom. should it have a cover ????
