Clutch master cylinder size for omega 'box???

Hi all,

does anyone have any experience with using an omega gearbox, specifically what size master cylinder to use - want to keep the pedal nice and light if possible...

I am also running an omega box on a xe engine, I have used a master cylinder from a fiat punto and a remote resevoir.
the pedal is light enough to operate by hand and disengages ok.
beware though, if you are using an early xe flywheel the concentric slave cylinder does not have enough travel to meet the pressure plate. omega boxes are usualy mated to ecotec engines with a dual mass flywheel or pot type flywheel which is much thicker and heavier than an early xe flywheel.
I had to space the slave cylinder towards the pressure plate by about 20mm.
the easiest way i found of doing this was to obtain a second input shaft seal plate from a gearbox rebuilder that had come from a scrap gearbox and fit it between the the original seal plate and slave cylinder. also when i went to my local vx dealer i was told that the gearbox seal plates were not available on there own.

Hi guys - how did you get round the 7 degrees problem?

What bonnet are you using - as my mate was told his XE engine with an Omega box wouldn't fit in a book chassis? With the Luego Velocity bonnet?

On looking at martthefridgemans pics the 7 degrees doesn't look to be that severe?

He was hoping to use bike throttle bodies as well..

7 degrees problem?????

Just mount the engine upright!!

The XE was designed with the 7 degree tilt as well. When i fitted one in my Manta it went in on std manta mounts on the 7 degree slant, but in the seven, I have canted it over to hold it vertical and made mounts to suit.
