fuel filter

Think I know the asnwer to this ...... but is there any reason why I can't fit a fuel filter next to the pick up going from the tank? It would be easier to access than grubbing around in the engine back and will be before the engine driven pump.

(I ask since most filters seem to be in the engine bay?)

Proper way is to have a screen fillter (or "sock" filter) inside the tank over the end of the suction pipe and place the fine fillter in the engine bay. A fine filter on the suction side of the pump is more likely to cause restriction on fuel flow than if t is on the delivery side.
