Zetec Water pumps:
I am a yank that is trying to utilize a Zetec engine in my hot rod. My engine is from a 2000 Escort, 2 liter. On this engine the water pump is driven
from the back of the accessory drive belt, therefore it turns counter to the engine. I have seen several pictures of cars that are being built by some
"Locost Builders" using the Zetec engine in which the water pump is driven with the "drive" side of the accessory belt and therefore turns the
same rotation as the engine. Please dilute my ignorance and tell me what the donor car is for this pump.
Awaiting your reply.

I used a RS1800 Fiesta pump, think model year is "89-"92. Suspect that as it does not have air con and PAS there is no need for long belt to drive
other pulleys. Not sure if the Escort 1800 is the same....

the escort and mondeo pumps rotate in different directions but are interchangable
you just need to know what direction it is going in
