Gearbox Alignment
Have fitted an ST170 engine and typ 9 into a Velocity but am concerned that although the gearbox output shaft is in the middle of the tunnel the mount
is off centre. It would suggest that the engine is off set which it is by about half an inch but in the opposite direction to that expected. Any
thoughts? no worry of investigate further.....

I've purposely mounted my engine off centre for clearance issues and getting it further back in the tunnel. I wouldn't worry about it
myself - pics in my archive under engine positioning if it helps..

so long as the faces are pretty much parallel, offset a little doesn't matter - popular opinion is that it actually helps keep the CV joints
working well.

You need offset to prevent the needle bearings brineling in the UJ's.
