Anyone know of a reputable Pinto builder/tuner in Lancashire (Bolton) area?

Tried replacing the cam bearings myself today. Took two hours before I conceded defeat, much to the relief of the neighbours who must have go fed up of the effing and jeffing coming from the garage!!

I will turn my head, bearings and FR34K cam kit over to a professional if anyone knows of a good one in the Bolton (work) or Chorley (live) area?

Why couldn't they use split bearing shells?

Any engine remanufacturing shop will have the required drifts to change the cam bearings, it soesnt necessariuly need to be a tuning expert, had my crossflow ones done for a tenner and they were good as gold.

Never actually known cam bearings on any engine to ever need replacing --- sometimes it is better just to leave things be.

I didnt replace mine and didnt feel the need to.

Isnt Dave Walker in that neck of the woods? (albeit not next door!) He posted some good prices for 2.1 conversion machining a while back. Have a read of this;
