Help required with dellorto carbs
I have a pair of dellorto 45's on my pinto, and they are running rich.
black smoke and soot and the plugs are getting sooted up.
stupid question i know but which screws do i turn to lean it down. i will require to lean it down a lot for the SVA.   
are they the same as webbers? feel a real fool for asking but hey

ps ive spent lots of time getting it running and i dont just want to bug**r it up again. I know after all this hard work why the problem with
something so simple

I am not sure it is that simple
I would need to look in the book but think there is a screw to adjust the idle mixture only, mixture at larger throttle openings are controlled by the
jets.
What filters do you have fitted? more free-flowing ones allow more air so tend to weaken the mixture.

You will probably need to change the jets in it. Attached is a rough guide. Not guaranteed, but might get you started.
The info is based on the Dave Andrews jetting calculator.... the info is for 40s by the way, but its also got a load of info after the settings.
If you want to work the right ones out for 45s you will need this:

the jets and stuff have a stamped number that has some meaning - I seem to recall seeing it was related to diameter of holes drilled - so in theory
the locost approach may be to solder up the holes and drill them with a smaller drill (to malke them larger would be easier). dunno if anyone has
ever attempted this?

many thanks lads.
it had been fitted with KN filters but the front one would not fit the gap between the frame and the engine, so i replaced them with carb socks.
would explain a lot.
