Exhaust Wrap Temps

I know there was a recent thread on exhaust wrap, but couldnt find it.

What temp will exhaust wrap see? There is 550 degree C stuff on ebay that is alot cheaper than the 1100 degree and upwards stuff.

How hot will the manifold actually get?

I have used the black carbon impregnated wrap on my primaries and it still gets bl00dy hot.
Hot enough to turn the stainless wire that I used to hold the wrap on with straw coloured.
Therefore I would deduce from this that the outside of the wrap is reaching a minimum of 150 deg C and is probably more like 200 C.
I would hazzard a guess that the inside is getting to around the 500 C + area. They certainly went "beyond blue" before they were covered and blue is round 300/350C

I would buy the highest temperature rated stuff you can afford.
1100 C is possibly a bit OTT for a standard setup N/A engine.
