HELP

Need a quick solution to this problem

The CPS (Crank Shaft Position Sensor) mount on my zetec I have installed is wrong, so no Spark

I have the automation one and need a manual one.

This can only be changed by engine removal and removal of Fly Wheel.

Can anyone come up with a solution to changing this on a zetec without removal of engine / flywheel. Could it be ground or drilled?

Scot's do it better in Kilts.

No mate bite the bullet. The sensor runs very close in a harsh environment.

Not exactly an easy solution but maybe a "get u out"

If its the EDIS ignition set-up, could you not mount a pick-up wheel on the Crank Pully as per 1.8CVH setup.

Just a thought!

Yeah but I only have 11 days to my SVA and I still need to now

1 Get the alternator mounted & working
2 Plumb in the engine
3 Change the CPS sensor & Get it to start.
4 Tune the engine - Set the carbs
4.5 Re-weld the exhaust if it leaks
5 Tidy the wiring
6 Test run (s)

Oh and work 12hours a day and weekends for the next 2 -3 weeks at my JOB

OH SHIT !! Looks like I need to be ill for a day or two.

Does this pully fit the Zetec or is it wider - won't this sit to far out to drive the water pump

I think what he means is mount a trigger wheel on your existing zetec front pulley.

Yup ment just the toothed wheel,

They can either be forced off a CVH pully from the Scrap yard or I'm sure someone on here has posted a Ford part No for a new one,
Then mount this to your crank pully and fabricate a mount for the pick-up sencor.

To learn more about the pick-up wheels try looking up Megajolt on here or the Net and megasquirtnSpark both use the EDIS system and its associated sencors.

yep the triger wheel up front will work but I think you will find it more work than droping the motor and doing your own.
