Exhaust manifold fabrication...
I am a little bit peeved at waiting so long for people to get back to me about fabricating an exhaust system for my VortX R1... So I thought I'd
use the skills of some of the guys at work with a TIG.

Where is the best place to buy pre-bent stainless tubes? What sort of bends do you need?
Most importantly, what grade of stainless is best/easiest to weld?
Is this possible for a guy with some welding experience and a MIG? I am thinking of tacking the bends into place with a MIG then getting a friend to
TIG it up for me...
Any input would be much appreciated!

I bought 'Food grade' stainless from Gibbon Bros in Whitby. I used vaious sizes but I can only remember the price of the 2" tube for
some reason. The 90 bends were £6each and the tube was £6/meter. The tube was fromstock but the bends needed to be ordered so there was a few quid
extra for delivery to them and I picked it up from there and paid cash. I tacked it all with the MIG and finished it with TIG.

7 x 90 degree 1.5" bends
1 x 90 degree 2" bend
2m 1.5" tube
1m 2" tube
Tube total cost (ebay £105)
GSX1000r can (ebay £20)
hacksaw, used old manifold for header attachment brackets.
Took a couple of days, easy enough to do, made collectors by splitting the tube and flattening a bit of the 2" pipe for the infills.
