Exhaust muff couplings -- source ?
For the road car to join the one piece OEM system to a new secondary CAT pipe I need a muff coupling (ie to form a butt joint both pipes same
diameter.
Failling that it will be down to searching for 6 inches of bit of 54mm bore tube or 50 OD tube.

depends on the size needed, you could use stainless steel hygienic pipe butt clamps like these thingies:
they are available in a fair few sizes and are cheap, heres a linky to a place I have stainless stuff from:
All Stainless Ltd
ps look under the "hygienic unions" section

Hi,
VW golf Mk IV has just such a joiner between front silencer and cat.
Take your pipe along to a motor factor and try the ones from different engine sizes for fit.
