Inlet Length?
Whats teh ideal length of teh inlet on a 1.8 zetec with ZZR1100 carbs?
Can anyone with a Bogg manifold tell how long the inlet tube for each choke is please?
Aiming at around 80~100mm. Is that too much??
Cheers,

The ideal length or the most practical length ?
Ideal zetec inlet length is apparently 17 inches from valve to lip of trumpet. (Dunnell testing ?)
Practical length is more like 12-13 inches

As long as it can get and still fit in the engine bay is the short answer.

there was a recent thread in which i tried to cover the basic maths of intake length. Got it wrong first time of course but sorted it in the end.
There should be an excel program that i made that will do the calculation for you.

Inlet length depends on max revs, see Jenvey website, ideal for Zetec probably around 15'' but practical probably less than
12''. Mine is less than 12'' ( ooh err missus ) but produces good power.

as I have said before, and thankfully others have above.........as long as you can fit on the car.
The theory will go straight out of the window on this one because it will place your inlet in a different lane on the motorway!
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
