Weber Jets for a Zetec
Heya all, me again!
Ive been calling round a few companies today about the Weber DCOE 40/45 carbs. Does anyone know if its posible to buy replacment jets to convery
standard DCOEs to the zetec Jets Tiger ship them with. tiger refuse to sell them seperatly and ive had no luck diging up information on anyone else
that will sell them seperatly so i can get some carbs off ebay and get them working properly.
Thanx in advance
John

Your best bet is a rolling road which is used to this engine/carbs. They should be able to set everything up and fit the correct jets.

There are a few places that you can buy Weber jets from , I guess Tiger don't want to let you know their jet settings , someone one here may be
able to give you a base setup but the carbs would then need checking /fine tuning on a rolling road.
Many people fit bike carbs , particularly R1 Yamaha from Bogg Bros up t'north they can supply them with a good base setting as they have done a
lot of these carbs for Zetec.
They may even guess at some Webers jetting for you.

I posted a set of jet settings and an ignition map as used by Raceline

ps the Blackbird bike carbs, I now have are loads better than the webers.

you need to put it on a rolling road if you are at all serious.
roughly quoting a well known engine builder, "giving out jet sizes is like telling somebody how far they need to press the accelerator to do
100mph"
there are so many variables you need a rolling road
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning

Go to a model makers shop, buy some drill bits and re drill the jets you have....
If you need a smaller jet just solder them up and re drill!

It is not just jet sizes that influence the running , you have air idle jets, emulsion tubes, air correction jets, main jets etc, & choke sizes to
consider. To get all of this right on a rolling road with a good operator is costly. It is probably better to go for throttle bodies & fully
mapped ignition & fuelling with an aftermarket ecu, which will produce better power, torque, fuel consumption & emmissions.
