whereabouts are you?
I can get you some dimensions, or better yet I have a spare block that you can have free if you want it. It gets weighed in for scrap on Friday.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning

I'm in Derby so just up the road, what condition is the block in?
It's not for the viento, the idea is to put it into a FVaux Juniour.

not questioning your plans but curious, wasn't the FVJ a 1600 corsa engine? The xe was used in the FVL, isn't it easier just to get one of
these or do you already have the FVJ or is there another reason for the planned conversion?
what gearbox are you planning on using? A hewland mk9 will break 2nd gears regularly with a standard xe (mate of mine had one in a sports 2000 lola
for a number of years - he used to 'life' 2nd and 3rd gear ratio's)

The plans are for a university engineering project, and we have a Mk1 FVJ that's in need of some TLC, the plan is to use an LD200 box from
hewland as it *should* take the torque the XE is sailing quite close to the Mk9's torque capabilities. Being funded thorough the university
money isn't an object we aren’t getting any and that’s about it, much like building the kit car round SWMBO.
