under hole size for M10 x 1.0
Further to previous post does an under hole size of 9mm sound right for tapping to M10 x 1.0 ?
I can only find info on:
M10 x 1.5 = 8.5mm
M10 x 1.25 = 8.75mm
so logically M10 x 1.0 = 9mm ?

afaik for all metric threads:
hole size = thread - pitch
so yip, 9mm for M10 x 1

Yep, that works as a rough guide. But at the end of the day it depends on the material you are tapping as well, you might find for harder or softer
materials 0.1mm smaller or larger can result in a better thread being cut.
