O/T Importing an engine from the US
Can any of you offer your wisdom about importing an engine from the US?
I've seen an engine on ebay in the US that I would like ( haven't we all ).
I am seeking guidance with respect to getting it "crated" or packaged as required, good shipping companies, some idea of the costs. Is
there anything else I should know?
Can you put me in touch with anyone who import engines for a living, or someone with a container into which I could put an engine?
Thanks in advance.
Mark

I think Chris Mason imported one from the states. Maybe he could help you?

A couple of members have looked into this recently and apparently you can get the same spec for less in the UK

Hi all,
A short update about my adventures of importing an engine:
I used the same import agent as Chris Mason: Paul Ireland at Concordia ( contact no. 0161 9458885 ).
If you are thinking of importing an engine, I highly recommend contacting Paul.
Paul's service was superb; he arranged everything. All I provided was contact name, number and address for the engine in the US. It took about
2 weeks for the engine to arrive.
Cost was also excellent: £240 for pick up in the US, US documentation, sea shipping, import handling and arrival at the Concordia depot in Manchester
ready for my collection. Cost though will depend on location in the US, size and weight of the engine.
All in all, I am one satisfied customer.
Send me a U2U if you want to know more.
Have fun,
Mark
