2.0L pinto warm starting
OK, so it's not actually in the seven I'm building its in my (1994) transit van.
It starts first time when cold, but when the engine's warm it's a bit of a bugger to start. Needs full throttle and eventually splutters
into life.
I've done the valve clearances and it runs great once it's going, just wondered if anyone knows what the warm starting problem might be
and if it's easy to fix?
Thanks!

Fuel vaporisation? heat shield the fuel inlet to the carb / injection and see if its better?

Mine was like that, the timing was advanced and the mixture was weak. Take your pick.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Normally rich mixture causes hot starting problems, might just be a clogged air filter
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Thanks for the replies.
It's a carb (weber) with automatic choke.
Had a new air filter recently, the plugs look a good colour, possibly a bit rich but not running lean.
I'll have a go at doing the timing!
