dead easy carb question
Hi, I've fitted a K&N filter in place of original sierra one, is it a good idea to re-jet the carb ?
its a weber 2v ( 30/34 dfth ) fitted to a 2ltr pinto auto choke
jets are, main 110, secondary 135
air correction, 160 secondary 150
these are for an automatic gearbox which are different from the manual
also whats the score with bike carbs regarding road use i:e cost etc
BTW this is not a seven type car, but you've probably guessed that already, not many use auto's

letting air flow easier you risk it running a little leaner. You could do nothing, up the jets .05mm and see, or stick it on an emissions machine and
see how it looks.

I thought you said it was dead easy???
As JoelP says, the filter *may* allow more air to flow through the carb. But on top of that, the possible lack of restriction that the original air
filter may of offered will mean that fuel may not be pulled quite so readily from the jets. Not strictly correct terminology, but I'm trying to
keep it simple
However, just sticking it on an emissions machine wont tell you anything - other than the mixture is right (or wrong) at idle. The only real way of
ensuring that carburation remains spot on is to be able to measure the exhaust gases when the vehicle is being driven. That means either a rolling
road session, or a wide band lambda probe in the exhaust, and a bit of luck...
Dont just build it.....make it!

Well i suppose the question was easy, its just that the answer was hard
Actually i understand what you're saying so you've done a good job of making it simple, thanks
I'll have to sort out rolling road when I'm roadworthy
