r1 carbs-air filter options

Hi chaps,

I have r1 carbs to fit to a 2L zetec, supplied by bogg brothers, any ideas on air filters?

at present I dont even have inlet trumpets just the opening on the carb so can take any route

I have just got one for a fireblade from here: http://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/ They was very helpfull and knew what they were talking about.

You can buy them with a blank back plate. Just cut to size and bond on to the catbs.

A set of R1 trumpet will cost loads, try without to start with.

Iv got one similar to wasa's. The other option is seperate socks.

Hi,

that setup looks great, I take it having no trumpets doesnt really make much difference- and that they can be added later?

also is filter cleanable like k+N?

Wrong, trumpets make lots of difference. I changed from 50mm ones to 70mm ones on my blackbird carbs and the difference to the mid range was fantastic.

Basically

Short trumpets = more top end at expense of low end

Long trumpets = strong low and mid range at expense of top end
