Redtop Sump

Hi all,

Sorry to bring it up again but it's getting to the point where I need to bolt a sump on the project...

I have an xe in the back of my buggy with a Omega gearbox sitting next to me.

Yes I know the gear change is round the wrong way.

I race offroad so the motor doesn't suffer from long sweeping bends i.e oil starvation...

So can I run the standard Omega sump??

If so what pick up should I use.

Help!!!!

Russ

If you want to use the omega sump then i'd suggest an omega pickup as that should fit. an omega with a 2ltr ecotec should have a usable pickup pipe, assuming they use the same sump as the one you have.

beware, I've got yellow skin

errrrr, I'm confused!!!

which way round is the engine.......if the omega box is next to you then which wheels do the driving.....the front ones?????

I have a number of sumps to suit the XE in various installations

Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion retro car restoration and tuning

Dev,

It has engine in he back, with Omega gearbox sat next to me driving through a reverse rotation transfer box that transfers the drive to front and rear axles i.e. 4WD.

I have the Omega sump and pick up so do you think it will be safe to run with that one???

With the greastest respect - what do YOU think? I dont think anyone else has done what you are doing on here before. You are the poineer...
Something to bear in mind. Because the engine is now the other way round (if I understand correctly), under hard acceleration, the oil may surge out of the lower section of the sump when it is need most (instead of naturally falling into it).
