Zetec Sump

OK all, this is gonna seem a silly pointless post but....

I have been reading this forum for ages and am now well into build. Thinking about the engine and was wondering is it really necessary to shorten the Zetec sump?

It's a 1.8 Silvertop from Mondeo.

If it is what about the lower bolt holes for GB mounting (MT75)

Suggestions please thanks

J

Your corect with the bell housing being the lowest point. So I lowered that an inch aswell

On another note. I have a choped sump and 1" of that below the rails but there is no chance of standard or even plus 1" bodywork covereing the engine with out a large bulge

As said dont worry about the bottom MT75 mountings, best to grind them off as they will only ground out on humps.

Get the sump modded and baffled, worth it in the long run.

Thanks guys, as I thought. I suppose I could always fit 22" wheels to increase ride height

Cheers J

With a raceline sump if you are feeling flush the lower bolt holes in a type nine bellhousing are used. The sump is flush with the bottom of the bellhousing and you are not going to get the engine much lower in the car.
