Megajolt without TPS

I fancy getting my MJ installed and running on my current engine [1.8 cvh] so that when I come to put in the Zetec I have one less thing to do.

But it won't have a TPS.

Is it worth bothering?

well you can just run megajolt off the crank sensor, apparently it runs ok like this, though it would be better if u used a MAP sensor or TPS

if i ever get going again on mine i will be using a MAP sensor since i think this will work better than the TPS as its a reading of engine load not just a value of throttle opening that is only really a proxy value

yes, you will only be running in 2D mode, but will still have better control over the advance at different rpm's, and fitting TPS later, is dead easy.

TPS is really only useful for engine with individual throttle bodies, or where a fairly wild cam has been used so a stable vacuum reading isn't possible. MAP gives better results if it can be used.

Get yourself a TPS unit off a zetec inlet manifold/body and fit it to the throttle pedal.
That will do it
