what axle ratio ?
Can any one advise me what ratio diff I should be looking to fit in my book locost chassis that we presently have running and are about to stip to do
final clean/ paint and rebuldand has not yey been on road.
It has 2.0 pinto in normal form, type 9 box and standard 1300cc Mk2 Escort saloon axle with 185 / 60 R15 set up. We plan to use mainly on road with
hoefully odd track day and want all round performance.
Would also appreciate knowing best place to get same set up.

Hi Richard, a 4.1 diff would work really well, acceleration would be quicker, I'm fitting a 4.44 diff to my atlas axle ( yours will be the
english axle ) you sacrifice a little top end speed , but who cares!!!

I would think a 3.7 would be better for a 2.0 Pinto. It is a fairly torquey engine but doesn't rev to well so you will want to hold the gears a
bit.
Two gear changes to 60 will slow you down even if it feels faster.
Summer's here!!!!

axle ratio
Thanks guys, now the silly question, can you remind me how to work out what ratio I have already. I know it involves counting the rotations of the
wheels / propsahft flange but not sure.
