1300 x flow valve stem seals

Hi,

Do the valve stem seals on the 1300 x flow just push on there doesn't seem anywhere for them to sit around etc, just doesn't seem anything to stop them from moving.

Engine didn't smoke before rebuild so certainly dont want it to smoke now!

Cheers

Mike

Yup they just push on - they're more like valve stem umbrellas to be honest but they work

there are at least 2 different types. the ones that come wit ha head gasket set are cups - I reckon those grip by stretching a little bit - if they should rise, then the valve came will pus them down again.

the other sort have a metal spring band round them with a sprial; spring round the top, like you see on shaft seals - that head has double valves.

Or you could get your cylinder hear spring seats machined to take the cvh stem seals which I believe had a built in plate at the bottom that the spring sits on.
