there were 3, according to engine number.
25D4, 45D4 and 45DE4 (last one being for electronic ignintion.
too many engine numbers for m e to type out but if you post the no. I cna tell you exactly.
I suspect t he 45D4 was the rubber bumper going by the number of engine numbers listed.

The Lucas 25D4 distributor was used in the MGB, and other, automobiles from 1962 until late 1974.
You could have a 25D or 45D Check this MGB BBS thread out >

Any of them will fit provided you have the right clamp assembly.
Just about any Lucas 4 cylinder distributer will physically fit the most you would have top do is change the drive dog. Of course advance curves are
a different issue.

IIRC BMC never managed to get the correct advance curve for the MGB , Try Aldon Automotive for a rebuilt unit with corrected advance

My dad has one, at about the same as yours, he's been pi##ing about with the points and the old SU's for what seems like a life, so was
gonna buy him one of those Alon ignitor under the dizzy cap things to atleast save his sanity.

Check with Aldon about a recon /recalibrated distributor fitted with the Ignitor set up . Fitted one a few years ago , transformed the car.
