Standard 'Pipe Stat'

Anyone else fitted a standard pipe thermostat of the sort used in central heating to swith the fan on and off?

I have one handy, thought I might attach it to a convenient legth of metal pipework

Check the switching current, pipe stats sometimes only switch low current for relays to drive pumps or valves. Try using a relay to be safe.
