Pinto cam cover sealing + instant gasket?
About to refit m pinto rocker cover. Last time I just used the cork gasket and it didn't seal particularly well. Is it worth a bead of instant
gasket either side of the gasket to help it seal?

I re used my old pinto cork gasket many times, make sure its bedded down propely and dont over tighten and it should be ok.
I cant see anything wrong with using a gasket seal but beware if you have to lift the cam cover again it will leave a real mess, you will have to
clean this of before re fit.

You need to make sure you do the bolts up in the right order or it will never seal properly and use the spreader plates too. As bob says, usually you
can reuse the gasket several times, but they arent expensive anyway.

If you need speader plates i may well have a set in the cave,i'll check this afternoon.
And yes David is right bolts in correct order and torque up the bolts to the manual, it is really low poundage beetween 5 and 7 if i remember right.

Cheers Bob/David.
Just fitted it with new cork gasket (£2.30), bolts and spreader plates and followed Haynes sequence - off out to fire it up now 
Last time I didn't use all the proper spearer plates and probably didn't do the bolts in the right sequence either
